Downgrading Iphone 4s 5.0.1 9A406 to 5.0.1 9A405 for unlock.

Hi All,

I bought a new iphone 4s 5.0.1 and 9A406 and i am waiting for unlock.I have gone through some of the sites and came to know that iphone should be on ios 5.0 or 5.0.1 9A405 for unlock..,So how to downgrade my iphone to 5.0.1 9A405..?

You can't unlock the iPhone 4s right now. But, you can jailbreak it, which is what I believe you are wanting to do.

I am aware that unlock is not yet available.., I want to be ready when it comes out.., so wanted to be on the lowest possible upgrades so that unlocking would be easier..,

if my Iphone was manually upgraded to 5.0.1 9A406 from 9A405.., i would have downgraded it but i got my Iphone loaded with 5.0.1 9A406 by default..., so someone let me know how to downgrade it..,

You can't downgrade it.

I registered on this forum just to post this:

It IS possible to downgrade from 5.0.1 9A406 to 9A405 by downloading it (direct link: http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-3305.20111109.Bghy6/iPhone4,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw) and restoring to this firmware by shift-clicking Restore in iTunes. It even downgrades your baseband from 1.0.14 to 1.0.13. Just confirmed this on my brand-new iPhone 4S 32GB white purchased from an AT&T store.

Step 1:Download the .ipsw file and save it to your desktop.

Step 2: Open iTunes with iDevice connected select it.
Step 3: Hold shift and press the "Restore" button in iTunes.
Step 4: Navigate to your specific .ipsw file on your desktop and hit "Open."
Step 5: Let it restore, set up iDevice, and then close iTunes.

the developers say you should be on 5.0 for unlock NOT 5.0.1 (any versions)

so downgrading to that version is pretty pointless

As I know jailbreak for iPhone 4s is already out and there is no any problem to jailbreak it........
