Communication with FaceTime and/or iMessage

I just upgraded my iPad and iPod touch to iOS 5. Now, those devises are synced in the iCloud with my MacBook Pro.
The idea is that when my wife travels, she can take the iPad or iPod touch and we can communicate via faceTime and/or iMessage. But if all the devises are installed with my user name and password, how can we use them at the same time and communicate?

Welcome to ipf..create a apple id for her better yet. Add her email to the iMessage settings>messages>receive at (input her email)
