Celebrities on Facebook Can Now Live-Stream Content

Popularity with apps like Meerkat and Periscope has grown over the past few months. The market has show that there is room for yet another type of social network, one that streams live video from a user's phone.

Well it looks like Facebook is looking to hop on the same train... at least if you're famous. On Wednesday, Facebook launched its new live online video chat feature through the Facebook Mentions app on iOS.

Unfortunately to be able to use this feature, you need to be somewhat of a celebrity with a verified Facebook account. Facebook adds that celebrities like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Martha Stewart, Luke Bryan, and Serena Williams will be using the feature over the next few days.
