Camera icon next to "slide to unlock" bar

Why do I have a camera icon next to my "slide to unlock" bar at the bottom of my iPhone screen? I didn't used to have it there.

Because you upgrade to iOS 5.1

You can access your phone without sliding the unlock slide. Just slide up the camera icon and.........presto!

I think they understood what you meant, but, you can access your camera without sliding the unlock slide. Quick access to the camera is a common request.
