Backing Up Cydia Apps - No So Much!

I purchased and installed XBackup and OpenBackup to backup Cydia installed apps on the iPhone. OpenBackup is FREE.

I then did a backup on both.

Next I updated/upgraded? the IOS on the iPhone 5.

Next I did another jailbreak. Everything came out perfect. So now I have the iPhone 5 running on the latest operating system.

Then I re-installed XBackup and OpenBackup.

Now I do a Restore. Tried both. Neither restored any apps from Cydia.

Sooooo......... Am I just a big dummy or do they only work if you don't upgrade/update the IOS?

Did you save a copy of your backup manually by rooting or hosting it through cloud service? Or did you follow the part where you're supposed to backup your device to keep a copy of the backup on your PC

This is the part where I use the "dummy" excuse. Don't know how to host or root it through cloud service or keep a copy on my PC. Their instructions alluded to simple. Not simple enough for me unfortunately.
