Opening the app will display a round recording button in the middle of the screen. Tapping the button will begin recording and show a waveform at the bottom, while the app analyzes what it's listening to. Music Memos can analyze chords of an acoustic guitar, piano recordings, and rhythm, instantly adding a bass line and drums as a virtual band.
"Music Memos automatically analyzes the basic arrangement and suggests chords you played for each track. Then you can hear how your music sounds with a realistic virtual drummer and bass player jamming along. If your performance speeds up or slows down, so does the band. You can even tweak the energy and performance of the drums or bass with a few simple controls."
The new app can tag songs based on location or sound, which can then be uploaded to SoundCloud, YouTube, or Apple Music Connect. Music Memos can be found as a free app in the iTunes App Store.
