Battery life does seem better with iOS 5.0 beta 2. But I had already turned of the location service that constantly checks which time-zone you are in.
Mine still does seem to drain fairly quickly though when reading PDF's through iBooks. Haven't a clue why.

Have u tried restoring and setting up has a. New iPhone?

If you restore to a new iphone how do you get all your apps contacts and everything else back?

You first backup your phone. Then GMAT up has a new iPhone. Then manually sync all of your apps back into your phone

Im sorry but how do you manually sync everything?

Ok. No worries mate. First thing you do is plug your phone to your computer or Mac. iTunes will open. Then on the bottom colum where your name is illustrated about your iPhone , right click on your name then you will see a couple of options, backup. The. iTunes will back up. Then on your iPhone name click on it. Then rewrote your phone. Let iTunes finish doing its thing then set us has a new iPhone. Then, when it's done. , click on your name of your iPhone name on iTunes then click on the box that says apps, music and contacts.

Ok cool thanks when the new update comes out should i restore or just do the update?

Just wait for the update.

Dont suppose you Dev's have noticed if the fetch email actaully fetches when it should with the update ?, i can set fetch to 1 hour, but it seems to actually fetch at random intervals, the longest being 40mins, and anything in-between !. (this is with the time always set to 1hour). Its a strange bug, but one which i think will def affect battery life.

Many Thanks

The phone is not full of bugs. The issue affects some but not all iphone4s phones. Regardless of what phone, computer or device and software there are always updates. The iOS is the issue and will be updated soon the good news is it is a straight over the air upgrade. I have clients here in Australia have no issues with battery life on the phone.

Bingo! It's hit or miss (as you pointed out) that not ALL phones have this problem so you could have the luck of the draw or not. I've not drank the koolaid so I'm a little standoffish of plunking down $750(us) for a 32gb ipod that can make phone calls and it doesn't even have the ability to use WiMAX or LTE (yet). So, I guess I used the wrong term. They don't have bugs. Just some very questionable flaws. Like Siri being accessed even if the phone is locked unless you take a few steps to require you to take other steps to use your phone and it's abilities. And I'm sure somewhere, there's a thread discussing the wrap around antenna that also doubles as causing reception issues on the version 4 phone (not sure if it's fixed in s or not but it doesn't look like it. No software patch can fix that unless I dring more kookaid. But then again, i'm not going to be the user, just a buyer and like any good dad, I check and test drive before I put my kid(s) behind the wheel so 4 months later I don' hear "Dad, I hate my phone". ;-)

Regards

I'd just like to say, 100% this morning not used other than a few texts. Come home 8 hours later and it's still 97% using it on here and emails half hour later 90%. Conclusion the more you use it for like all electrical products these days the more it drains. Simples!

I'm glad a battery patch is coming. I will be able to get more battery life at work when I listen to my mp3 and check my email and other notifications.

I'm not UNhappy with my current battery life. Soooo should I hop on the newest update, or wait until they settle everything?
I have the timezone update turned off, and Bluetooth and WiFi turned off, as I don't use any of them. I think pretty much everything else is on. I tend to make sure all my apps are off if I'm not using the phone as well.

You also have the option to buy a phone case/battery case.

Coming from Android, I think the battery life is awesome. If they release an update and make it even better, that is going to be outstanding!

Same here
