i bought an iphone 3g for my daughters 16 bday.... it was locked to AT&T and the person upgraded to 4.2.1
i used redsn0w and ultrasn0w (i've made a few no no's unfortunately...) it's on baseband 6.15...
(i'm reading alot more now...)
i'm pretty much SOL as far as getting this thing to work on t-mobile?
it's always searching for signal...

Your baseband might be corrupt, but no, 4.2.1 and 06.15.00 should work on tmobile no problem. Try reinstalling the iPad baseband. Also, install SAM and SAM Prefs(from Cydia)

i've tried a few times and get the same result. i downloaded a new ipsw file from this site so i'll give it a try again!

you could update the iphone 3G baseband to the ipad one and then unlock it.. here is how

there is never going to be another firmware update for the 3G so it should not matter what baseband you are using
