If so does your battery drop 1% per minute while using it? Mine seems to drop like a rock when I am using any app that pulls 3G data frequently.

3G is horrific on battery life. Even with a 4 bar connection you use 36% more power in 3G mode over WiFi. And if you have even less bars, it climbs radically.

Wow, I am not use to this coming from a Droid X. I am trying to self diagnose the battery issues and 3G is coming up huge. While using Waze(w/ 3G) the battery drops so fast my car charger can't gain any ground on charging-just sits at the same percentage.

If you are on a 4S, then you need to hold out for iOS 5.0.1. I am testing it now. Hopefully Apple will release it to the general public quickly. But it has fixes for battery drain issues.

Yeah, it's hard to wait ;). What do you think of the logic behind this? Should I try this?

A PCWorld reader had a similar problem with a new iPhone 4S and took it to an Apple store. An employee ran a diagnostics check on the device. He stated that the process that allows the cellular connection was in a constant crash reboot state and it was eating the battery. The employee wiped the phone and asked the user to not restore from backup but to just do a sync to the device. After performing these steps, the phone has performed well.

That is the EXACT advice I have been giving since day one :)

I only care about my contacts and have synced it with the cloud. So restore as new phone then I can sync with the cloud and I should get all my contacts back(with their pictures attached to the contact)?

What does any of this have to do with waze? This is a battery issue. Please refer to one of the many battery threads that sekelani himself started. Thread closed.
