Annoying white dot

Hey everyone .
New here to the forum and to IPhone.
There is this white dot thing on my home page and all pages for that matter. It has some short cuts or something? Can I get rid of this somehow?
I didn't know what this dot was called so couldn't search for a topic covering this.

I think you may be able to turn it off here-
Settings-General-Access Ability-Assistive touch-off
