Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White claims that chatter amongst various companies from Apple's supply chain points to a revamped version as early as June. Said to be 20-40% thinner than the current model, the Apple Watch 2 might be presented at WWDC 2016.
"Finally, we walked away with the sense that the Apple Watch refresh will not occur in September with the iPhone 7, but is more likely to occur within the next 2-3 months, and thus we believe an unveiling at WWDC in June makes sense. We believe Apple Watch 2 could be 20-40% thinner than the current Apple Watch", said White.
Presenting new products at WWDC is not unusual for Apple. It makes sense that the company might take up more time at its annual September event, to focus its time on the iPhone 7. I would take this predicted size of the Watch with a pinch of salt, as the device is still struggling with battery life.
