Whether you knew or not, let us remind you - Apple has released until now eight different iPhone versions - the original 2G iPhone, the 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5c, and the iPhone 5c. With every new iPhone launch, almost always we’ve been told that they are lighter, thinner and faster. But when you release the iPhone 5s, naturally, you compare it to the previous version, the iPhone 5.

However, YouTube poster EverythingApplePro thinks that to really understand the improvements in differents sorts of speeds - like browsing, unlocks, shutdowns and startups, we need to compare all eight iPhone models that Apple has released so far.

When it comes to starting up your Apple smartphone, the newest high-end device - the iPhone 5s, manage to beat all its “ancestors”. But the original iPhone didn’t rank the last one, having the fifth place, before the 4, 3GS, and 3G. However, this might be caused by the fact that iOS 7 uses a different boot sequence whereas the original iPhone has not been updated since iOS version 3.1.3.

But the real surprise was encountered in the shutdown test where earlier generations of iPhone, the iPhone 2G, 3G, and 3GS which all running iOS 6, have had a quicker power off than the newer iPhone models. Is the iOS to be blamed in this case, as well?

When it comes to web speed tests, just as expected, the iPhone 5s is the winner here, but Apple's newest model is only slightly ahead of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c, which means these devices are still pretty snappy.
