Following on from the massive success of its iPad app, Algoriddim has now released an iPhone/iPod touch version of djay, which turns your iPhone/iPod touch into a portable DJ system, enabling you to mix your iPod music library on a hyper-realistic turntable interface. The app lets you perform live, record mixes on the move, or enable Automix mode and have djay mix your favourite playlist automatically with seamless DJ-style transitions.

The app boasts automatic beat and tempo detection, which can calculate the BPM and exact location of each beat, and the advanced audio wave form display provides an overview of each song’s structure so that you can visually cue to specific points for the perfect transition.

The app even has a facility to cue songs through headphones independently from the mix that goes through the main speakers for live DJing, using an optional split output adapter, via the Split Output mode.
