Hey guys/gals
Is there a way to get rid of VZ contract without a ETF? I tried calling them with the new fee issue and tried getting away but they denied my request. It is hard for me to carry on with the contract due to family issues creating monetary problems. Any advice will help.... Please help!!!

Well if you don't have the money to pay the ETF I would suggest seeing if a trusted family member or friend that doesn't have a phone would be willing to take over the contract for you. The friend/family member gets a phone, you get off without having to pay an ETF. Everyone wins. The only reason I recommend someone you can trust, is because they'll be taking over the payments in your name, so you'd want them to be trustworthy so you won't have to worry about them not paying the bills and ruining your credit.

I would agree. If there isn't someone that could possibly take over the remaining term then I would just suck it up

Join the military and get deployed. They waive the ETF for deploying troops. Are you good with creating documents? Make yourself up a letter with some Private Military Company letterhead and make it look like they are sending you overseas for an undetermined time frame. I made one of those up for a buddy and he got out of his gym contract.

the only way to get out is military deployment, death, or if you can prove that Verizon isn't upholding their end of the contract.

the new fees don't apply to current contracts they only affect new contracts....

One other thing to take into account as the contract goes on the ETF lowers each month so you wont have to pay the full amount just the pro-rated amount.

Thanks for the reply.... I thought about it and even talked to a few people but it did not materialize... No one in my circle can take up the contract as all of them have their own... And like you said I do not want to go with a 3rd person to hold my contract...

Thanks a ton for your suggestions...

Thanks for the suggestions but I do not plan to do anything that is out of the law...

I agree with xrayeyes. Wow

You can have a total stranger take over your account, just have them do a liability assumption. The party taking over your account would have to go in with you, have his credit run and he would take over your account, it would be in their name and you would not be responsible for that account anymore.
