Do battery apps just monitor things and give advice? Or do they actually change what happens inside the phone? For example, can they or any software manipulate the charging rate by turning on or off a "trickle charging" mode?

The answer to this was that iTunes should have been talking to my phone and continuing to serve that function. I don't know why it wasn't but after working on a variety of problems for a while I saw this straighten itself out somehow. So, iCloud does not handle all syncing and transferring data...

I bought some typing tutor apps to practice on, and that helped me. I can touch type pretty well on a regular size keyboard but the small screen keypad is difficult. The apps helped a lot, though. Could they help you too? What exactly do you dislike about it?

I don't understand about the Newsstand app that iPhone comes with. Where are all the magazines? It takes you to a handful in the App Store, of which I only recognize Guitar World (and I don't play). Are you supposed to be able to get them someplace else? Where and how?

Ah. I am using iPH.net and find that tapping More, then Subscribed, gives all the threads I posted in. The ones that have grown are bolded. Visiting them unbolds them and resets the number. Thanks!
