WiFi Booster is a new tweak launched in Cydia yesterday which can improve the Wi-Fi signal strength for Apple’s products. The tweak does not change the settings of the Wi-Fi chip in order to improve signal strength but works by eliminating the signal level limit that prevented iOS devices from displaying certain Wi-Fi networks.

Apple has prevented its products from displaying such networks in order to offer iOS users the chance to connect only to the networks that have the strongest signal strength. By embedding this signal level limit, the company aimed at offering the best possible internet connection to it users. Wi-Fi Booster does exactly the opposite and shows any Wi-Fi networks available as long as the Wi-Fi chip detects them.

Also, you may want to consider using the WiFiFoFum app which enables you to see even hidden networks. The tweak is even reported to increase the number of available network by over 100%.

The tweak adds an indicator showing the strength of the Wi-Fi signal and it also display the MAC address of the router right under the name of every network. Wi-Fi Booster is very useful tweak for many iOS users and probably some of them will actually pay the $1.99 price to purchase it from the BigBoss repository.

The tweak offers no information related to its compatibility with iOS 5, but it may not be compatible with Apple’s upcoming operating system after all. Wi-Fi Booster does not add any new icons to the home screen. Users can activate the tweak from Settings → Wi-Fi network.

Could be better if it double or triple the speed of wifi on iDevices.
