white plug in battery icon instead of green lightning bolt

Hey I recently replaced the battery in my iphone 4. when i plug it in to computer or outlet. It reads that it is plugged in but i am not sure if it is charging or not. Instead of the usual green lightning bolt when charging i get a white plug in the battery icon. I will chech when i come home to see if it is charging. any suggestions or info

I have always had a white plug icon and have never seen a green lightning bolt
