Updating phone software.

There is new software available for my iphone 4 but when I click to download and install or even download only it comes up itunes cannot connect to server as there is no internet connection, check connection and try again. I am always connected, using laptop and home wi-fi, using windows vista home prem, any help would be appreciated. doug.

do you ever have internet problems? the file you are downloading is about 650mb so if there are any dropouts it will fail.

try downloading it with a download manager which will resume if it fails.

It doesn't even start to download, it just says there is no Internet connection.

I'm curious, does you iPhone have normal Internet activity all the time, as well as the PC you connected it to?? If BOTH have connectivity, then there's no reason for iTunes to deny you download activity. Strange. Get back.... if you resolve this.
