unlocked iphone with tmobile 3gs model

I need help. i'm thinking of buying the unlocked version of 3gs. i still have 1 yr and a half left on my tmobile plan. i have a sims card

will it work as good with tmobile, will i get wifi, internet all the featuresil, apps, email, or should i just get a htc phone?

I have a iPhone 4 & a 4s both on t-mobile & have had no problems at all with them!
