Syncing with Office 2021 Outlook calendar & contacts.

Having been a lifelong Samsung/Android fan I have after much consideration changed to Apple/iphone (13 pro max).
Problem 1 was that the Android to iphone app errored so did not work properly.#
Problem 2 was that after following the instructions to sync my Microsoft Office 2021 Outlook mail,calendar and contacts using icloud (told that itunes no longer used?)
it not only did not work it has wiped out all my calendar and contact data from Outlook.
Has anyone one else had problems syncing with MS Office or has any ides on how I can get my calendar and contacts back?

Do you have a backup of your Android phone from when the calendar and contacts were intact?
