Hi - how do I sync my contacts to my pc from the ip4 without losing or changing details on the pc, and also the other way around.....I'm loathe to try this in case anything disappears!!!! Thanks in advance....
Back up your iPhone first so if anything happens you can restore your iPhone contacts. Back up the contacts on your PC. Usually contacts are saved in a single datafile. Depending on the email client the file could be saved in different locations. Backup this file or see if the email client has a backup utility.
Now sync the two. The two ( iPhone and email) contact databases should now be merged.
Connect your iPhone via USB to your computer. Load iTunes. Wait for your phone to appear am and them sync it. Usually it backs up when you sync but if you want to make certain go to the first page of your phone in iTunes. There is a button there to backup.
