I just got a new phone and I'm giving my iPhone 4 to my son. It is jailbroken and on 5.1.1. Before I gave it to him, I went in the settings to do a "reset all settings" to wipe the phone. Not only did it not get rid of my contacts and call logs, but now it's stuck in safe mode. When the phone rebooted after I reset it, a message came up asking if I wanted to set it up as a new phone, and I chose yes. Why didn't it get rid of all my info, and how do I get it out of safe mode?

Never use the "Reset all settings". It takes forever, and it doesn't remove everything. It might be stuck in safe mode since you wiped out some of the system files for jailbreaking. Re-restore using RedSn0w to iOS 5.1.1. Just open up TinyUmbrella and retrieve the SHSH blobs if you haven't already for that particular device for iOS 5.1.1. Then rejailbreak it to make sure that everything is working in tip top shape.
