Starbucks has just made it even easier for iPhone owners to get their morning coffee on the go with the nationwide launch of its mobile payment scheme. The nationwide launch, which includes nearly 6,800 company-operated stores and more than 1,000 Starbucks in US Targets, follows on from a successful test program in certain select markets such as New York, Seattle and Northern California.

To experience mobile payment at Starbucks, you simply have to download the free Starbucks Card Mobile App for iPhone or iPod touch (see link below), enter in your Starbucks card number, and then once it’s all set up correctly you should be able to pay with your iPhone or iPod touch in store simply by holding it up in front of a scanner on the countertop and scanning the app’s on-screen barcode.

“Mobile payment is just one example of how we’re continually innovating on behalf of our customers to enhance the Starbucks Experience,” said Brady Brewer, vice president Starbucks Card and Brand Loyalty. “A growing segment of our customers use smartphones, and through the Starbucks Card Mobile App, we’re providing them with the fastest way to pay.”
