Sprint has been rumoured for some time to be on the verge of getting the iPhone, but those rumours could be about to become a lot more credible today, with Barronss reporting on a note from Citadel Securities analyst Shing Yin that says that it is looking very likely that Sprint-Nextel will soon be launching its own iPhone. Yin writes that the fact that from July 7th Sprint will be the only U.S. carrier that still has an unlimited data plan available to customers will make Sprint an even more attractive proposition to Apple. Yin also says that he thinks that Verizon and AT&T will both try and delay the arrival of a Sprint iPhone for legal reasons. However, he sees no reason why Apple would want to fail to grant Sprints wish of an iPhone before Christmas. According to Yin, Sprints lower plan prices could make it very appealing to customers who are on a tighter budget than the customers of other carriers, which he says could be an important consideration for Apple when it comes to make its decision.
