Siri in Australia

Does anyone know how to tell Siri to work in Australia. She says she is based in the US and her language is US English.

I asked her " where the nearest pub is " and I'm in Australia!!

From what I understand Siri is still in beta... and only working completely in the US and parts of Europe. Supposedly there's going to be a big update for Siri sometime in the first quarter of 2012 that adds more languages and possible world capabilities.

I really hope the update comes soon. I will be getting my 4S in the next few days and as I am in Australia, I am hoping that the update helps it recognise us down under.

Siri works fine in Australia however the map function will not work until Apple provides an update sometime in early 2012 no confirmed date.

So... if you ask Siri to locate something for you it can't perform that task?

Siri map functions only work in the US at the moment
