Sending photos via messaging

I have never had this problem prior to the latest update. When in gallery and wanting to send a pic via text (to iPhones and androids) I select the contact then try to send and nothing, it locks up. I can do it backwards though (open text, attach photo, send). Is anyone else having this problem and if so, is there a fix? Powering the phone off and on seems to be a temporary fix.

I don't know, but it works just fine on my 5c...

When you say, "Power the phone off", are you doing a hard reset? Hold both the top button and the home button until the Apple logo appears, then release.

Just tried it on my 5s and it worked fine...
