Restore to ios5?

I'm still on 4.2.1 and jailbroken. In the past when i had to restore while jailbroken I'm always having hard time restoring with error codes and ended up using tiny umbrella to kick me out of recovery mode ane be able to restore from there but I don't want to run thru that problem again. What is the best way for me to restore to ios5 from jailbroken state? thanks
I'm getting ready to sell it or should I just sell it jailbroken with 4.2.1?

Have you tried putting the device into dfu mode.

Would that be the preferred method for my device the way it is now?

Put it in dfu mode rather than recovery mode. If that doesnt work, try downloading the ios5 firmware and using the shift click method.

You should have shsh blobs saved for 4.2.1

Personally id be downloading the ipsw, and restoring to stock 4.2.1- gives people the option.

Yeah the 4.2.1 is saved. I will get my 4s in a few weeks then I'll deal with it, maybe I can sell it in jailbroken state. I still need to know how to restore because I need to do that with my iPad as well. I will follow your suggestions though, thanks
