Removing the ringer icon

I want to remove the ringer icon that appears when I press the volume up/down buttons. I want it gone completly. I thought the png was at /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/hud.png ------- but it's not on my iphone 5 with ios 6.1. Can anyone help?
