reflash ipad baseband 3gs HELP

i have a 3gs that has randomly started restarting when the simcard is inserted somebody suggested reflashing the ipad baseband, but im not getting any info on it. since i am already on 5.01 BB6.15 am i required to get a custom ipsw?
but the latest redsnow you dont need an ipsw it automatically detects it...not sure what to do

Anytime you do any updating or restoring when on the iPad BB you need to do so w/ a custom firmware. That's what I would suggest... restoring your 3GS w/ a custom IPWS w/ perservation of the iPad BB.
