Slashleaks has posted what is claimed to be leaked pictures from inside one of Foxconn’s factories of a Foxconn-branded box full of iPhone 7s units, complete with clearly visible Touch ID sensor on the rear of the phone, underneath the Apple logo. This follows on from a leaked photo that appeared on Sunday, also on Slashleaks, that it was claimed showed some of the packaging for the iPhone 7s, and that also showed the iPhone 7s with a Touch ID sensor on the rear of the phone.
There is, of course, no way of ascertaining the authenticity of the image, especially when it conflicts with photos of a purported iPhone 7s dummy without a rear Touch ID sensor that were posted by well-known Apple leaker Sonny Dickson last week. However, it is starting to look more likely by the day that the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus models will have rear Touch ID sensors, as Apple is doing away with the physical home button for all three of its forthcoming new phones, but has also abandoned attempts to embed the Touch ID sensor in the phone display. Slashleaks says that only the OLED iPhone model will be using 3D facial recognition technology to replace the Touch ID sensor.
