Ordered replacement battery with 2018 date of manufacture— does it matter?

I ordered a replacement Iphone battery (non Apple brand) from a Ebay seller and I got a new battery with manufacture date of 5/2018. Should I be concerned? Does it matter?

If you actually mean “manufactured” and not “expires”, then nothing to worry about.

If you take it to Apple they run a diagnostic and confirm if your battery needs replacement. The replacement cost is actually reasonable in UK about £50 or so.
