Perhaps the question you wanted to ask was "can these files be installed without using a PC?"

If so, then the answer is no, however since the release of IOS5 it has been possible to update the firmware using the Over The Air (OTA) service when connected to Wifi.

So whilst you can't use the files in this thread directly for that, you can still update IOS by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

But you should note, OTA is not suitable for jailbroken devices. You always need to use a PC when you are installing a new version of IOS on a jailbroken device.

If you really did mean, can it be done without iTunes on a Windows PC, then the answer is still no, because at the very least you need the device drivers which come via an iTunes installation and are not legitimately available separately. Sorry

It is awesom. It's just a little application on your desktop...open it...and it's about the size of redsn0w...within has everything you need...and any iOS version you want...and it even has one click buttons to show you where iTunes backups are...
