No sound coming from internal speaker for apps

For some reason, with any game or other type of app, the sound doesn't work unless I plug in headphones. Music and YouTube work, but that's it. And I obviously make sure I have sound turned on and turned up and everything. It's not really a big deal, but it's still annoying >:O. I have a 5 running on 6.0.2 if that helps at all. Anyone know why this could be happening?

well if you dropped it or something it could be damaged, and if it's an iphone make sure its unmuted on the side
