So, my brother gave me his old iPhone, it was unlocked and working fine, so lastnight i upgrade it to 5.1.1 on iTunes, complete restore, however, i didn't know you need the original simcard to activate it, this morning i used redsnow to "hacktiveate it" and it worked, it is now jailbroke, unthetered, thing is my simcard won't work anymore, "no service" error even when3 it was working fine yesterday, is there any other way i can activate the phone without the original simcard?

I'm asking cause, i want to try to unlockit using the new Absynthe 2.02 but right now it says the device is already jailbroke and i can't use it...

Any ideas of how to solve the "no service" issue?

I've tried thess tutorials already and still not working...

If it was previously unlocked... then you've whiped that out when you updated to 5.1.1. And unfortunately... there's prolly no way to get your unlock back. Sorry...

So, are you saying i transformed the iPhone into an iPod? really? or do i have to wait for a proper 5.1.1 unthetered unlock?

Jailbreaking and Unlocking are two completely different things. When you make reference to "Untethered", that only has presedence in the Jailbreaking world. Unlocking soley relies on what Baseband (or Modem Firmware) your iPhone is running. When updating your iPhone to iOS 5.1.1 you also updated your Baseband to such that isn't unlockable. So, to answer your question about transforming it into an iPod... yes, sorry.
