My wife has a new Apple Watch Siri seven. When the text arrives the watch dings but the phone doesn’t recognize the text arriving? If the watch is off the phone or signal with the correct sound that the texts arrived. Any idea what’s going on?Thanks

This is actually normal behaviour and how it is supposed to work.

Caroline is correct. If the display of the iPhone is active then the notifications will go to the iPhone, but if the iPhone’s display is inactive then the notifications will go to the Watch. It’s basically for when you can’t have your iPhone with you.
