Another week, another set of freshly squeezed iPhone 5S rumors. This time we’ll be talking about the improved specs the new device is purportedly going to sport. According to information coming via the Vietnamese blog Tinhte.vn, the upcoming smartphone is going to feature a quite powerful new camera, packed with an extra hand of special goodies. The blog claims that its info comes from legit sources deep inside the Apple production chain.

The report states that the iPhone 5S will incorporate a 12 megapixel camera that will bring along the HDR video function and the ability to take better captions in dim lighting conditions.

The night caption feat has been in the spotlight lately, other companies pushing updates for their smartphones that enable them to perform better in an obscure environment, camera wise. New devices like HTC One, Nokia Lumia 920 or the Samsung Galaxy S4 are all equipped to take the best pictures they can with as little light as possible. Therefore Apple will have to implement a sensor just as good as the one found in the HTC One or Nokia Lumia. With the Nokia EOS upgrade coming up, Apple might try even more.

As far as the HDR feat goes, Apple was already offering this option but not for video.

The above information is apparently provided by sources located in Wonderful Saigon Electrics – the company in charge of assembling the iPhone camera. But there’s no hard evidence to support the theory that this rumors come indeed from Apple’s camera maker. So we’ll just have to wait and see, if the above turn out to be true.
