newbie question about factory unlocked iphone4

Hello
New to the iphone scene, I just days ago received a factory unlocked iphone4 on 4.02 baseband 1.59
Question is... I would like to jailbreak using limera1n, Do I just go ahead and update to 4.1 and apply the jailbreak ? if not what are the steps I need to proceed with?
I have spent hours reading and scouring forums but i'm more confused than ever now

if you want to jailbreak, you MUST have 4.1

correct, since you dont need to worry about unlock, thats all you need to do, just upgrade and run the app and you will be fine
