New to the iPhone

Just bought a hacked iPhone 3G 8GB. I use T-Mobile. Is there anything I need to do to it once I get it in the mail? What are some basic things I should know about it. I have been a BlackBerry user for a long time, but wanted to get the iPhone forever and a day! Can't wait until it gets here. I Hope to learn a lot from this website.
