[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vj3UdA5ZlI]YouTube - IOS 4.3b1 on iPhone with multitasking gestures and lock/mute switch[/ame]

A story on Engadget today features a video made by Antoni Nygaard, who has managed to get the new iPad multitasking gestures to work on his iPhone. The new gestures, which were revealed by the release of iOS 4.3 beta to developers, include four-finger swipes to switch between apps. As it’s thought they are mainly intended for use on the iPad’s large screen, it was possible they wouldn’t work so well on the iPhone’s smaller screen, but they certainly seem to be up and running, judging by the video, which also shows the lock/mute switch toggle that is being introduced for the iPad in iOS 4.3. As to whether or not these gestures are intended for use with the iPhone, or indeed when they might be implemented, that’s all rather up in the air at this point, as Engadget revealed yesterday that the gestures won’t even be enabled for the iPad when iOS 4.3 is released to the public as Apple has said that they are only a preview for developers to test how they might use them with their apps in future.

This is dumb... The phone is way too small to do 3-4-finger gestures comfortably. I'd rather tap the Home button twice... much easier, especially for using the phone one-handed.
