The ESPN app has been long overdue for an update. Up until now, ESPN has been all over the place, with multiple apps like ESPN ScoreCenter and ESPN SportsCenter, confusing folks who want it all in one place.

On Thursday, the sports-entertainment network released ESPN 4.2, combining the aforementioned apps, all into one. The new ESPN app has been refreshed and redesigned, adding universal support for the iPhone and iPad, as well as support for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

The app offers access to ESPN Now, showing up to the minute photos, videos, and other content from sports related broadcasts. Folks also have the ability to view live action from any ESPN channel using the On-Air tab.

ESPN 4.2 is arguably the best app to get sports coverage from a mobile device. The 35-megabyte download requires an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running on iOS 8.0 or higher and is available in the App Store for free.
