need help with iphone 4s

quick explanation, my uncle recently passed away and my aunt found an iphone 4s in his belongings, she gave it to me as she has no use for it, it seems to be brand new and not even set up ! however it seems he got round to registering a yahoo email address to the phone or itunes, problem i have is all his other belongings have been given to charity etc so i am unable to find the email address etc, apple and yahoo refuse to help, can anything be done ?

I'm afraid that you've run into the iOS 7 activation lock, whereby the phone cannot be activated without inputting the Apple ID and password of the original owner. There is, unfortunately, no way to bypass this issue. Unless your aunt or another family member can get the ID and password for you, your iPhone can never be used.
