Can you give any symptoms leading up to the total failure at the charging port, and have you ruled out that the charging port is not simply bad?

Have you tried multiple cords from several wall outlets, checked anything else? You are being really vague and the above posts are by a 13yo. Not very constructive IMHO.

I have been a a tow operator and mechanic for ten years and never once have I said something was bad without proper diagnostics.

Young one, you snap to conclusions without proper diagnostics and you could give someone wrong info. Jailbroke does not mean its automatically bricked. This is now the second overreaction I have seen from you, chill out and learn a thing or two.

Back on topic:

Have you had any recent problems with the charging or sync as of late.

Did you download a new app as of late from a third party?

Any additional info will help besides it just won't turn on, and some history too.

Well before it died it was in safe mode that night but then i woke up the next morning and it was dead . the "connect to charger" screen came on and every time i plugged in my charger it would never charge. i didnt download any new apps nor did i have recent problems .

My dock connector was kind of dusty but i cleaned it up using a toothbrush and that didnt work either to solve my problem. do you think its the dock connector that needs replacing or am i just hopeless ?

Again, you are showing your immaturity. I am not bossing you around, I am offering you advice. Don't listen to those that know, and the powers that be on this site can make sure you listen to them.
