I am having the same problem inviting people to calendar events. I have followed all the instructions here but no go. I had already had an exchange account set up for contacts but that didn't seem to help. I am using Gmail and Google calendar. Here are my settings:
In Exchange I have mail, contacts and calendars syncing
In Gmail I have calendars syncing
In iCloud (if it matters) I have contacts and calendars syncing
I have varied the items syncing with no luck. Any ideas?
