Mobile vs iPhone in Contacts

Is there a difference?
Do you get anything special by entering an iPhone number in the iPhone line vs just regular Mobile line or are they just purely labels?

For me, they are all purely labels, I just enter my contacts phone numbers in any available filed, it makes no difference to the phone and to me as well.

When sending texting messages mainly it appears as a "I-message" instead

Lol no big difference but for me if I know a contact of mine has a iPhone I just put it under the iPhone section.

One thing I found out is that if you put the number under iPhone and then sync with Outlook it will show up in Outlook as "Other." Not what I want since that won't tell me what phone I'm calling.

I think there is a separate number created for an iPhone number though. It's a different number than your cell. An I wrong?

Entering a number as an iPhone number will also allow you to have the option of using FaceTime.
