Since updating to ios6 I keep getting pop ups of dismiss/read in mail.is there a setting to turn off?

Are you running IM+ on your phone? I get that all the time from that app, if you're running it maybe you can do something with it there. It doesn't bother me so I haven't felt the need to fix it.

iOS 6 added the ability to use the notification system for each individual email account you have loaded. So your issue may be due to that based on the information you have provided so far.

No problem. It was a pretty big change from iOS 5. Kind of amazed they didn't make a bigger deal about that feature.
