Mail App Not Working!

I have an iphone4s and a 1st generation ipad and both are giving an error for my email.

I have a gmail account and it was working as of first thing this morning. Then with the last hour or so it has been giving me an error.

The error states: Cannot Get Mail, The user name or password for "Gmail" is incorrect.

I have gone into the settings and double checked all the information it is all correct. I also deleted and then added the account again. I even restarted both devices...nothing is working. It still comes up with the same error.

Any suggestions?

I'd double check on a terminal to see if your email might've been hijacked. The only time that Mail.app has ever given me issues was when my email was hijacked and the password was changed.

If not, manually enter the credentials. Go to Settings > Mail, and for accounts, go for Others instead of GMail. Enter the credentials accordingly and see if that works out the kink.
