Looking for an app. Any ideas?

I'm a student and I'm in need of an organizer.
I really want a block organizer.
So like if I opened the app it would bring me to a calendar
Then I pick a date, whether its today or a week from today, and then it has sections.
So if I click on October 6th then it will show 6 blocks within that, or my six classes.
Then I could click on the chemistry block and type in that my lab is due on that day.
Is there anything like this at all?
I know the iPhone has a built in calendar and notes app.
But I really want that block function because it seems more organized to me.
