Doodle Jump creator Lima Sky has for several months now been promoting its forthcoming Doodle Jump tie-in with HOP the Movie, and I'm glad to say that it has finally been released to the App Store as a free, standalone version of the game, and not just an update to the original Doodle Jump. Doodle Jump: HOP the Movie tells the story of E.B., the son of the Easter Bunny, who has to learn how to jump properly so that he can deliver Easter baskets to children all over the world. Who better to teach jumping skills than Doodle the Doodler?! Tilt your device to move E.B. and tap the screen to chuck eggs at the occasional sinister mutant chick that pops up. Each level ends when you reach the goal that is shown in the top right-hand corner.
The game has 25 levels in total, but you cant access all of them right away. You start with 8 levels, and one more will be unlocked each day until the movie comes out on April 1. It really is a very cool and fun game, and comes with full Retina Display support. The app is also universal so looks just as good on the iPad as on the iPhone.
