Keyboard does not show

My keyboard will not come up on any iPhone 4 (with the new update) application...

Google, SMS, email, application update etc.

re-booting used to fix this problem; however that now longer works.

Any thoughts?

Have you hard reset the phone?

Turned off/on the phone .... sometimes works, sometimes not. Hope it holds together until Sept. for the iPhone 5

Hard reset is my next option.

No no, the hard reset is that you push both "power" and "home" buttons for about 12 seconds or so until your phone off then come back again with the white apple logo displaying on the screen. The next step after that will be a factory iOS restore.
