Jailbreaking Newbi Q

Hi guys, just not long picked up my brand new Iphone 4.

Id like to jailbreak the phone but theres something im not quite sure on yet, i had to get the phone unlocked from o2 network so that i could use my contract vodafone sim, would the jailbreak lose this unlocking?

No, if the carrier unlocks the phone it is considered "factory unlocked" no matter what firmware or baseband you are on you will still be unlocked.
